Welcome to USL-Y:
USL Youth is an elite summer league that focuses on high-level competition and player development. It provides a structured environment for athletes to enhance their skills, gain valuable game experience, and stay sharp ahead of the fall season. The league is part of USL's youth-to-pro pathway, offering players a steppingstone toward higher levels of the game.

​What is USL Youth?

USL Youth, previously known as Super Y, is an elite summer league designed to give players the chance to compete against top-level talent during the summer. The program focuses on player development, providing athletes the opportunity to enhance their skills, gain valuable game experience, and prepare for the upcoming fall season.

As a progression of the historic Super Y Summer League, USL Youth is part of the United Soccer League's comprehensive youth-to-pro pathway, which promotes growth and connection across all levels of the game. USL Youth strives to build a thriving soccer community through meaningful events, engaging content, and unique experiences. This initiative is an essential step in the soccer journey for players, coaches, clubs, and families, supporting each participant’s individual goals in the game.

What Does the Season Calendar Look Like?

The USL Youth season runs for approximately 6-8 weeks, typically during June and July. Teams that qualify for the National Championship will compete in a 3–4-day event in Tampa, Florida, in December.

How Many Games Are in the Summer Program?

Teams will compete in the Mid-Atlantic division against clubs from Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Over the course of June and July, each team will play roughly 6-8 games, with a mix of weekday and weekend matches.

How Many Practices Are Included in the Summer Program?

Teams will train up to three times per week during the 6–8-week program in June and July, providing consistent opportunities for skill development/reinforcement and team building.

What Are the Roster Sizes?

To account for summer vacations and planned absences, rosters will be larger than usual to ensure player availability for each game. Game-day rosters will be communicated in advance.

How Many Teams and Age Groups Will Be Offered?

We plan to offer teams for the following birth years:

What Is the Cost of the Program?

The program fee is $600 per player. This all-inclusive fee covers:

Note: Personal travel expenses and uniforms are not included in the fee. Teams that qualify for Nationals will incur an additional per-player cost, which will be determined later.

How Much Do Uniforms Cost?

Teams will wear a version of the current DC Eleven uniforms. Costs may vary.

Payment Options

Accepted players will receive a formal invitation through the Playmetrics registration system. To secure their spot, players must fully complete registration.
